Welcome to the VGMS Library Page and to our program of Information Literacy.  We believe that every student needs to have the skills necessary to navigate in today's information rich society.  Determining information needs, recognizing and selecting appropriate resources - whether print or online and managing the information are fundamental skills needed for successful academic research.

Lending Policies

Borrowing Period
One six day cycle

Number of sign outs

Three book maximum

Renewals

Each book(s) maybe renewed for up to three cycles

Overdues

A list of overdue books are sent to homeroom teachers where students are reminded to turn in their overdue books.  Students are also encouraged to see the teacher-librarian or library-technician when they have an overdue book.

Lost Books

When books are either lost or damaged beyond use, the book's value will be assessed.

Program Description

Valley Gardens Middle School Library aims at assisting students and staff to develop resource based learning skills. The library program implements the resource-based learning model to support and enrich the school's educational goals and objectives. We have revamped many aspects of the library to make it inviting and exciting for students to visit and utilize. We have dramatically increased our circulation in all areas to reflect a strong middle years component. Feel free to drop by and ask for assistance at any time.

Library usage: Morning, Transitions, Lunch, After School
